Touch Tank

Get your hands wet with up-close encounters at the incredibly popular Touch Tank. This unique exhibit encourages you to pick up, pet, and play with a variety of animals found throughout the Florida Keys, including conchs, sea stars, urchins, sea cucumbers, and hermit crabs.

Open-Air Concept

Key West Aquarium was originally designed as an open-air structure, until a roof was added in the 1960s to minimize the amount of algae growing in the tanks.

  • Where can I park?

Located right near our hotel in the heart of Old Town, we recommend you walk to the Aquarium, just 3 minutes away. You can also take a pedicab or ride a bike. If necessary, metered parking is available around Mallory Square.
  • What can I expect during guided tours?

Lasting 30-40 minutes, the guided tours feature stingray and shark feedings, with the opportunity to touch a shark's tail. Guides are local marine life experts, sharing facts about the animals and Key West. Daily tour times are: 11am, 1pm, 3pm, and 4:30pm.
